TONY HOUSE - (Canada Topflight Academy) Founder

TONY HOUSE was a two-time Ottawa All Star, game MVP and Ontario High School All Star, winning a Junior and Senior Championship with St. Pius X High School. He was highly recruited out of high school and went on to start and play for the nationally ranked University of Manitoba Bisons. Tony attended two Canadian National Team tryouts as well as an Olympic Team camp. Tony has been coaching for over 30 years and has coached a number of successful basketball teams including the senior boy’s programs at Nepean High School and Sacred Heart High School. In 2010-11 House’s Sacred Heart Huskies would win a AAAA City Championship and earn a top 4 ranking in Ontario. Tony has also coached the U19 Ottawa Guardsmen and has been a driving force and coach with the Ottawa Elite program since its inception. His U16 OE team would win the first Ontario Cup Division 1 title for the organization and Final 4 program in CYBL when he coached. He has been instrumental in the development of numerous players going on and playing at the university/college level. Tony partnered with Leo Rautins to form the Rautins-House Basketball Camp that has been a fixture in the community for 30 years and has coordinated the annual Ottawa High School Boys All-Star game for over 20 years. Seeing a need for a high school All-Star game for girls as well, Tony started the Ottawa High School Girls All-Star game for girls as well, which he has been coordinating for the past 3 years. House is the Founder of Canada Topflight Academy (CTA), the first Prep program in Ottawa which currently includes two Senior Men’s (Gold and Red), Junior Boys and Senior Women's teams. The CTA Senior Men have won 2 out of 3 NPA National Championships in their first two years of operation. Last season CTA would go undefeated in league play, was ranked # 1 in the country for most of the year and was selected Coach of the Year for the 2019-20 season.

The National Junior Circuit is pleased to welcome Curt McLean to our Board of Directors to take on the role of Head of Officials and Convenor for the National Junior Circuit.
Curt is the Founder & President of CM Sports whose mission is to develop and deliver a quality, interactive and innovative developmental basketball training program as a tool to guide, educate and mentor inner-city youth of Toronto. He has coached multiple high school and club programs at all levels in the GTA and boasts an impressive officiating resume.
Mr. McLean has officiated over 3000 games and championships throughout the Province of Ontario and the world and is also a member of several basketball associations both in Ontario and internationally including:

(IAABO) ●International Association of Approved Basketball Officials (OABO) ●Ontario Association of Basketball Officials
(CABO) ●Canadian Association of Basketball Officials
(JABA) ●Jamaica Athletic Basketball Association
(PRBABO) ●Peel Region Board of Approved Basketball Officials 

In 2007, Mr. McLean was invited to attend a training camp with the National Basketball Association (NBA) to try out for the status as an NBA official. This invitation is an excellent achievement, as only a selected few with the essential skills are invited to officiate at these special basketball camps.  Mr. McLean was amongst the elite of NBA/NCAA referees who judged and critiqued his performances. Mr. McLean is the second and only Jamaican-Canadian who has achieved such a standing in this area of sports. Becoming an NBA Official is one of Mr. McLean's career goals and this important phase is in keeping with his motto "Where Dreams Become a Reality".

DREW EBANKS - Board Member / PLATINUM Circuit Commissioner
 

Drew Ebanks, Founder of On Point Basketball. is often referred to as ‘Captain Canada’. Drew has been an integral innovator and personality in both amateur and professional Canadian basketball. With a High Honour Diploma in Radio & Television Broadcasting from Seneca College and experience in the financial services industry. Ebanks’ diverse educational background and work experience has allowed him to maximize On Point’s potential in becoming a leading basketball lifestyle brand.
The NJC is thrilled to have him ONSIDE and have no doubt he will make a difference in the lives of young Canadian hoop hopefuls



RO RUSSELL - (Crestwood Prep) Board Member
 

NJC is pleased to add Ro Russell to the Board of Directors. Ro is one of the most high profile coaches in the basketball community. In 1990, Russell pioneered Canadian basketball with the formation of his organization Grassroots Canada Elite. Grassroots Canada has fielded many of Canada’s top professional players, such as the Cleveland Cavalier’s Tristan Thompson, Toronto Raptors Cory Joseph, Minnesota Timberwolves Andrew Wiggins, Dallas Maverick’s Dwight Powell, and the Philadelphia 76ers’ Nik Stauskas. In 2008, his Grassroots Canada team became the first Canadian organization to win a Major AAU tournament in the Las Vegas Super ’64 Tournament.
Russell has played an instrumental role in the Canadian basketball community. To date, he has aided over 400 high school female and male athletes secure basketball scholarships to over 100 schools in North America. Coach Ro is currently the Director of Basketball and Head Coach of the SR Boys at Crestwood Preparatory College in Toronto.



ISABELLE CHIASSON (Saint-Laurent Express) - Board Member
 

Isabelle is Head Coach and Program Coordinator of men’s basketball at St. Laurent High School in Montreal Quebec where she has been a specialized educator since 2018.
From 2005 to 2014 Isabelle coached women’s club, school and AAU teams before moving into coaching men’s school and AAU team from 2014 to today, seeing players move on to play on NCAA, NAIA and USports teams.
Isabelle has been a high school coach for the past 16 years, has coached her teams to 3 Provincial Championships and was awarded Coach of the Year twice in the provincial school league.
Isabelle has also been a social worker for the past 22 years and has won a provincial level award for her tole as a social worker and coach with young people.
