NSC PLATINUM Welcomes Halifax Prep to the 2020-2021 Season!
2020-07-22
The NSC PLATINUM circuit would like to welcome HALIFAX PREP which is the first and only Prep basketball Program in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
The province of Nova Scotia has become a real hot-bed for Canadian basketball talent with the recent success and gold medal performances at the Canadian National Championships. With the inclusion of Nova Scotia, it now makes (4) provinces represented in our National platform with more to come. Halifax Prep is led by program Founder Ming Folahan, a former D1 player at Wagner College located in Staten Island, N.Y. and who also played in the NBL. Through his experience Halifax Prep has been proving to be very competitive while competing in the National Preparatory Association (NPA) and traveling around the U.S. Coach Folahan is proud of their 100 percent graduation rate, as it strives to achieve success on both on the court and in the classroom.
Halifax Prep is returning one of the best shooters in the country in Stacy Smith who this past season broke the NPA record for 11 made threes in a game. They also return 7’0 Ali Ragab who is developing into one of the best post players under Folahan’s tutelage. Ragab has become a force and presence at both ends of the floor and will definitely attract a lot of attention from NCAA and USports coaches this coming season. Recruiting has been going very well as Halifax Prep has landed Jonah Mosher who is a two-time, back to back provincial champ. This year’s recruiting class also includes: 6'5 SF Ethan Huber, 6’6 SG Nick Arinze, 5’10 PG Keezondre Smith and 6'4 SG Keagan Brown.
Halifax Prep looks forward to participating in the inaugural 2020-21 NSC PLATINUM season, we are also thrilled to have Ming Folahan join the NSC Platinum Board of Directors.
