NSC PLATINUM Welcomes TRC Academy to the 2020-2021 Season!

2020-07-17

Since its inception in 2015, TRC Academy exploded onto the North American Prep basketball scene. TRC celebrated back-to-back OSBA Men’s Championships in 2018 & 2019 and most recently saw their TRC Jr. Academy men capture the OSBA Junior Series title in 2020.  Player development remains a top priority at TRC producing 20 BioSteel All Canadian athletes (Sr. Men/Women and Futures) in addition to successfully securing post-secondary opportunities for 100% of their graduating student athletes (52 in 5 years).

OSBA Jr. Championship Head Coach Ryan Craven, along with Assistant Coaches Marcus Jones and Raysean Joseph, will focus on long-term development and look to their young core to carry a heavy workload this season.  TRC will be anchored up front by newcomer 2022 6’9 F Evan Meyer (Oshawa) and his unique set of skills.  Deadly local snipers 2022 6’3 G Liam Craven (Brantford) & 2023 6’4 G Max Arnott (Brantford) remain from the 2019 OSBA Championship roster and are primed for breakout seasons. They will be joined by 2019 Team Ontario U15 standouts, 2023 6’4 W Roland Okeugo (Brampton) and 6’5 F Galand Okeugo (Brampton).  Arnott and the Okeugo brothers were also key contributors on the OSBA Junior 2020 Championship squad.  With a few more important pieces to be added, the Wolfpack also have an impressive crop of young guns in the program that include 6’7 W Ayob Daniel (Ottawa) , 6’6 W Zain Mahmood (Mississauga), 6’4 G Remi Tissington (Brampton), 6’8 W Jordan Atahir (Windsor) and 6’ G Dylan Craven (Brantford).

With a strong championship culture and an outstanding collection of young talent, the future remains bright at TRC well beyond the 2020-21 season.  Notable Men’s Alumni include:  Justin Jackson (Maryland/Orlando Magic/ Hamilton Honey Badgers), Rahmir Moore (St.Joseph’s), Deon Ejim (UIC , OSBA Finals MVP)  Miguel Tomley (Santa Clara, OSBA record 60pts in single game), Avan Nava (ST-FX, OSBA Finals MVP, AUS Rookie of The Year, AUS 2nd Team All Star),  Eliel Nsoseme (Cincinnati, OSBA 1st Team All Star 2017), Antoine Vernon (Oregon State, OSBA 1st Team All Star 2018), Adong Makuoi (Palm Beach College, Northern Illinois, OSBA 1st Team All Star 2018, OSBA Defensive Player of The Year 2018).
